Description: This officer’s plate with decorative transfer green border was recovered from a WWI era Armored Cruiser, USS San Diego (ACR-6). On the plate’s base, a maker’s mark of a crown is shown with the words “John Maddock & Sons Ltd. / Royal Vitreous / wport”. This suggests that the plate was made by John Maddock & Sons and the printed mark dates around 1896.
