Description: WASHINGTON (July 23, 2015) The aft end of the now fully conserved Howell Mark I Torpedo Number 24 at the NHHC Archaeology & Conservation Laboratory on the Washington Navy Yard. Lost from the Iowa (BB 4) during a training exercise and found by a dolphin team from the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program off the coast of San Diego, conservators have been preserving and studying the torpedo since May 2013.
