Description: WASHINGTON NAVY YARD (Dec. 5, 2013) Two members of Terra Mare Conservation, Paul Mardikian and Claudia Chemello, came to Naval History and Heritage Command's warehouse located on Washington Navy Yard to document the state of NHHC's Howell Torpedo in order to develop a conservation plan for the historic artifact that is undergoing desalinization. Mardikian and Chemello were brought in to assist Kate Morrand, senior archeological conservator for NHHC, develop a plan for the post-civil-war era Torpedo.
