S i r:
The Department has purchased the steamship SUPPLY, which will keep the squadron under your command supplied with provisions, going from ship to ship as occasion may require, and returning to the United States when further supplies are necessary. She has been ordered to proceed direct to Cape Haytien, in order to SUPPLY the vessels now with you in the East with fresh provisions. Order her to proceed to the westward, pick up the vessels in the blockading squadron and deliver to them such supplies as the may need. All future order to her will be issued by you.
