A city in the southwestern part of the state of Alabama, located at the mouth of the Mobile River and at the head of Mobile Bay.

The fourth Mobile (AKA‑115) was laid down on 15 January 1968 at Newport News, Va., by the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock, Co.; launched on 19 October 1968, she was delivered to the Navy on 2 September 1969 and commissioned on 29 September 1969.
Ultimately decommissioned on 4 February 1994, she was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 31 August 2015.
