Bucareli Bay (ACV-61)

A bay on the western side of the Alexander Archipelago. The name has had a variety of spellings: Bucarelli, Buccarelli, or Bukareli, and the body of water has been called a bay, a gulf, a harbor, a port, and a sound.

Bucareli Bay (ACV-61), a Casablanca-class auxiliary aircraft carrier laid down on 15 January 1943 at Vancouver, Wash., by the Kaiser Co., was renamed Manila Bay (q.v.) on 3 April 1943 before her launching.
