Alena

Alena, a small sloop used to transport Confederate troops from Maryland across to Virginia, was seized in June 1861 in the Pamunkey River by Union forces in the steamer Mount Vernon under Lt. J. M. Prichett, USN. She was then towed to the Navy Yard for Federal service.
