Communications Publications Collection,

1929-1989

Finding aid

Scope and Content Note

The Archives Branch received this collection from the Naval Network and Space Operations Command Detachment (NNSOCDET) prior to its disestablishment. It was assembled from documents received by NNSOCDET and its predecessors, and constitutes a comprehensive, though incomplete, set of U.S. Navy and Allied communications protocols spanning 70 years of operations.

When received from NNSOCDET, the collection was unorganized. The organization established in this collection during processing was by publication number. The two largest series of publications are Allied Communications Publications (ACP) and Joint Army, Navy, Air Force Publications (JANAP). A smaller number of other types of publications are also included.

The final box contains unnumbered publications arranged alphabetically by title.

Note: Much of this collection is restricted due to classification.
