Description: Donation (via Naval Historical Foundation) by LT O.E. Wightman of WWI and WWII era images. The photos seem to be loosely related and are unorganized. Subject matter consists mostly of US Navy & German submarines and Camp Dealy in Guam (Quonset huts, sailors, etc.). The German submarine photos include: a 3 inch gun on UC-97, surrendered subs (UC-97, UB-148, & UB-88) docked at the Submarine Base, New Groton, CT, 1919, also of note is an image of the American crew of UC-97 taken at the dock at Buffalo, New York. US Navy submarine photos include: ship’s crew of S-1 (1923-1924) off Panama, S-1 before conversion (1922), S-44 at Coco Solo, Canal Zone, 1925, and USS N-7 (SS-59) training off New London, CT, 1918. Camp Dealy images include a captured Japanese submarine and band practice. Also of note is map plan of Camp Dealy, Guam, 1944-1945. The map shows the locations of roads, buildings, and recreation fields (basketball, tennis, volleyball, swimming pools, etc.).
