Description: Scrapbook of approximately 170 photographs taken during donor’s service aboard USS Minneapolis (C-13) 1917-1919. Many views taken aboard the ship. Shown are officers and sailors, ship’s band, ship painted in dazzle camouflage, ship in dry dock, convoy in a storm 1918, observation balloon, sea planes, coaling ship, Y-gun/6 inch guns and gun crews, target practice, boxing match, fire room and engine room, monkey mascot. Other ships shown include: USS Pennsylvania (BB-38), USS Leviathan (ID# 1326), USS Mississippi (BB-41), USS Preble (DD-12). Also sinking of SS Dora on 4 September 1918. Locations shown include Hog Island Shipyard Philadelphia, Cape Breton, Halifax, Panama Canal, New York City parade on Armistice Day, Hampton Roads, Washington DC. Some photos have been assigned NH numbers.
