Collection of two scrapbooks and a folder of large format prints related to the Naval career of Frank Patch, radio electrician onboard USS Houston, circa 1920. Scrapbook #1 consists of the following subjects: views of New York City, Panama Canal and the Gatun Locks, the USS Houston "radio gang", & general onboard scenes. Scrapbook #2 subjects include: going through the Panama Canal (including Gatun Locks), Coco Solo submarine base in Panama, dry dock and shipyards in Brooklyn, NY, radio room and operators onboard USS Houston, general onboard scenes (sailors posing and day-to-day activities), USAT Dix, USS Vermont, USS Jason & S.S. Rogday at Mare Island, personal photos of Frank Patch, and various views at Bremerton Navy Yard, including USS Mississippi in dry dock and USS Texas. The folder of large format prints consist of officers and crew of USS Tattnall (DD-125), 1932; portraits of Frank, radio equipment training, collage photo of the ships of Division Thirty-Two, Destroyer Squadrons, US Pacific Fleet - including USS Reno, Stoddert, Thompson, Kennedy, and Paul Hamilton, USS Portland (CA-33) at Pearl Harbor, 1936. Also included is an oversized panoramic photo of the officers and crew of USS Tattnall (DD-125) docked in San Diego, CA June 25, 1932.
