Caption: "Boulogne." This view depicts Boulogne at the height of the invasion threat in 1805. The Forrest of Masts in the harbor marks the Great Flotilla of Transport. Outside are a number of heavy gun briggs and luggers posted to keep English Bomb Vessels at a distance. In the surrounding hills are the tents of Napolean's Army, and nearer shore, the numerous coastal -defense batteries Engraving by T. Medland after N. Pocock. Published in the Naval Chronicle by J.
