Title: Morotai Operation, September 1944.
Caption: Men of a Navy combat demolition unit lay TNT along a channel that is to be cleared of coal, at Morotai, 15 September 1944. The explosive is contained in a specially prepared rubber hose to permit blasting of long narrow channels. Eight tons of it were used in one blast. Rubber boats used to carry the TNT appear to be LCI(L) types. Note LCI and other shipping offshore.
