Description: (Japanese cargo ship, 1941) Is struck by a Mark XIII aircraft torpedo launched by a USS White Plains (CVE-66) TBM Avenger torpedo bomber, off Rota Island, Marianas, 23 June 1944. Shoun Maru was sunk in this action. Note the torpedo's wake, leading from the drop point in lower left to the middle of the ship.
