Description: Halftone reproduction of a photograph taken at fifteen years of age. The photograph may date from his service as a U.S. Navy Midshipman in 1860-1861. Morgan resigned in April 1861 and subsequently became a Midshipman in the Confederate Navy. Copied in 1983 from Morgan's autobiography, Recollections of a Rebel Reefer (opposite page 52), published in 1917. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
