Caption: The original print of this photograph was received by the U.S. Navy Office of Naval Intelligence in December 1895, soon after the ship's completion on July 11, 1894. In fact, the photo was obtained through a British source, indicating that it was made during the ship's Northern European deployment to represent Italy at the opening of the Kiel Canal in mid-1895.
