Rollow, Jr., U.S. Marine Corps; and Major General Ralph Mitchell, Director of Marine Corps Aviation, in the Secretary's office, 28 December 1942. Navy Cross was awarded for extraordinary heroism during the Battle of Midway, 4 and 5 June 1942. A copy of the citation presented to Rollow for the Navy Cross is filed with the image.
