Description: (1807) Underway, circa 1807. Built in 1807 by Robert Fulton and Robert Livingston, she was one hundred feet long, twelve feet wide and seven feet deep. In 1808 she was lengthened to one hundred fifty feet and widened to eighteen feet. This vessel was also called North River Steam Boat. Engraving, published in Benson John Lossing's Pictorial Field-Book of the Revolution, circa the early 1850s. It was copied in 1974. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
