Description: (Armored Cruiser # 11), 11 October 1919 M. Juserand, Ambassador of France to the United States, (center, with beard), in the office of Secretary of the Navy Josephus Daniels (second from left), during ceremonies in which the statue (seen at left) was presented on behalf of the city of Grasse, France, honoring Seattle as the first American warship escorting troopships to France after the United States entered World War I.
