Caption: The massacre of Wyoming took place on the 3rd and 4th of July 1778 in the Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania. The valley housed divided loyalties between Tories and Patriots which finally came to a head when British Major John Butler's rangers and 300 American Indians captured the valley.
