Caption: This boat was built privately in Sweden in the 1880s. Photo was probably taken at Stockholm and shows her with only the cupola with the captain's head above water, as she would appear during an attack at long range before the cupola was altogether submerged. Note canal boat and sloops in background carrying wood.
