Caption: The United States lines WASHINGTON in the Panama Canal, probably early in 1940 when in New York-California service. 1941-45 she served as the Navy transport MOUNT VERNON (AP-22), and was renamed WASHINGTON in 1945. Laid up in 1951, she was scrapped in 1965.
