Description: Great White Fleet World Cruise Postcard published in Japan to commemorate the U.S. Atlantic Fleet's visit there in October 1908. This card features pictures of buildings and scenes at (clockwise from top center): Miyajima, Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Kamakura, Enoshima, Nara, Nagoya and Nikko; plus a view of one of the U.S. battleships. The reverse of this card is essentially identical to that seen in Photo # NH 106114-A-KN. The card was mailed on 20 December 1908 from Seattle, Washington, to Miss Tillie Cathcart of Jersey City Heights, New Jersey. Collection of Chief Quartermaster John Harold.
