Caption: Quaint Chinese Junk added to Navy Collection. The famous Navy Department Collection of Model Ships today welcomed a newcomer in the form of an elaborate Chinese junk, such as has plowed Chinese waters for centuries and may still be seen in the Orient. The model was presented by Rear Admiral Charles B. McVay, Jr, who received it from Sir Frederick W. Maye, inspector of Chinese customs; Miss Alyce Thomas, of the Navy Department is photographed with the junk. May 4, 1932.
