Description: Aerial photograph of burning LSTs in Pearl Harbor's West Loch. The bow of LST-39, still afloat, is partially visible in the smoke just to the left of center. LST-353, which has already sunk, is alongside her. LST-480 is just offshore, astern of these two ships, afire over her entire length. Three other landing ships, hidden by the smoke, were also destroyed. Note the large number of amphibious tractors (LVTs) parked on the beach in the foreground. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
