Title: Robert Zink Photo Collection
Description: Collection of 27 photographs (copies) taken in the 1980s of the Navy dry-docks at the Parris Island Marine Base, SC and of an outdoor exhibit on the Charleston Navy Shipyard, SC, of bells, anchors, and guns. The photographs the Charleston Naval Shipyard images include an iron stocked anchor; the bell of the USS Charleston (C-22) of 1905; and four of the Dahlgren XI-inch shell guns, sleeved to 8-inch rifles (these guns were converted in 1879-1880 and were installed on USS Lancaster in 1881-1895. They are mounted on iron slide pivot carriages with geared training and recoil return mechanisms).
