2018.03 Margaret Wallace Collection

Collection of 50 photos related to the naval career of LT Stafford Wallace, Jr., during WWII in the Pacific Theater. The collection is mostly made up of PT boats (Wallace was a PT boat skipper). The following ships are included in the images: PT-234, PT-589, PT-245, PT-238, PT-228, PT- 594, PT-595, PT-596, PT-589, PT-590, PT-591, as well as several unidentified ships. Most of the photographs show the ships in “action” conducting maneuvers, though no locations are noted. Also included in the collection are views of Leyte (village and buildings) and Salamogue Harbor in Luzon, Philippines (showing a view of a sunken Japanese destroyer). There is a single image of USS Charles R. Ware (DD-865) and the motor launch of USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42).
