NHF-014 Vera Cruz Collection

This collection consists of 137 postcard size views of the occupation of Vera Cruz in 1914. Shown are US Navy warships, sailors, and scenes ashore. This includes battle scenes and damage to the city, as well as leisure and training. A number of images show Mexican troops and individuals. Some photos have been assigned NH numbers.

These include shipboard views taken on board USS MICHIGAN, subjects include: loading practice torpedoes, Lieutenant Commander Adolphus ANDREWS, USN, with a 110 lb. tarpon, crew members swimming, airing bedding, coaling ship, target practice, boat racing, etc.
