Description: Don Muller Collection. Approximately 100 photographs from the naval service of Richard Glen Muller, circa World War II, who was possibly a Photographers Mate, according to his family. Primarily loose, uncaptioned, black and white photographs, with several scrapbook pages of photos, a pamphlet in Japanese, a newspaper clipping, a pencil portrait of a man, and a USS Shangri-La (CV-38) newsletter from September 1945. Subjects covered include VBF-3; USS Shangri-La; occupation of Japan showing damaged buildings and daily life after the war; unidentified Pacific Islands; Hawaii; Pasco, WA; ships and aircraft; many photos of sailors and aviators in their daily lives and off duty, as well as Japanese and American civilians, though captioning and identification is very limited.
