Description: Photo album of the naval service of Thomas J. Kilinen from 1924-1930 aboard USS Cincinnati (CL-6) & USS Detroit (CL-8). Subject matter consists of USS Cincinnati (1924-1925): Crossing the Line Ceremonies, exterior of, ship’s crew, anti-aircraft guns in action, torpedo practice off Cuba, in dry dock, & liberty in Guantanamo Bay (at the beach and in the city), Honolulu (at the beach and in the city). Subject matter of USS Detroit: formal image of the ship’s crew in 1927 (oversize) ,ship’s officers, Vice Admiral Burrage and the caption of the ship, crew onboard the ship, on liberty in Germany, Scotland, Italy & Egypt, as well as Crossing the Line Ceremonies. Also included are photos of Marshal Ferdinand Foch with Admiral Burrage (date unknown, but may have been part of goodwill visits to Europe in 1927).
