NHF-039 John Lansing Callan Collection

Approximately 750 loose photographs and 4 photo albums dealing with the service career and personal life of John Lansing Callan, from Lieutenant (USN) to Captain, in the period from approximately 1910-1946. There is a strong focus on early naval aviation as well as civilian aviation, particularly float planes. This includes many detailed photos of airframes, engines, and cockpits of early aircraft, including construction techniques. Many images of World War I and World War II in Europe. Individuals seen throughout include noteworthy figures from the Navy and the civilian aviation community. Some photos have been assigned NH numbers or removed to the NH collection.
