Title: California Historical Radio Society Photo Collection
Description: Collection of 6 photographs taken by Captain Hedley B. Morris in Portsmouth, England circa 1918. Each image includes a caption provided by Captain Hedley. The images relate to German Submarine U-126 and USS L-2 (Submarine # 41). The U-126 photos depict the ship under British command at US Naval Base 27; the mast (with German and English flags flying); the six inch guns mounted on the desk; an interior view of the torpedo tubes; and an exterior view while docked. Captain Hedley also included a short description of an incident where the U-126, while under British command, rammed the US destroyer USS Parker (DD-48) while backing out of the Plymouth base docks. The photograph of the US submarine USS L-2 shows the ship surfacing from the water.
