Collection of 42 photographs related to the naval service of LT Leon W. Knight while serving aboard USS Saranac (1899) in 1918. The majority of the images show USS Saranac in or around the UK, specifically Scotland. Specific scenes include: USS Saranac at sea; general above deck scenes; officers and crew aboard ship and on land; anti-aircraft guns; ship’s mascots; Admiral Sims boarding Saranac at Invergordon; laying smoke screens; loading and dropping of sea mines; Saranac in dry dock at Invergordon, Scotland; city scenes of Invergordon and other unidentified locations in Scotland; USS Bushnell with a German sub alongside; and Beagle Class British destroyers at sea.
