Please join us at the National Museum of the United States Navy as we commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the U.S. Navy’s Bathyscaphe Trieste and her historic dive to the deepest place on Earth, the Challenger Deep. Our guest of honor will be Don Walsh, Ph.D., Captain, U.S. Navy (Ret.). Captain Walsh commanded Trieste on her 36,000 foot deep dive on January 23rd 1960.  Speakers will include Captain Walsh; Naval History & Heritage Command Director Rear Adm. Samuel J. Cox, USN (Ret.); Captain Matt Farr, Executive Officer, ONR Global; and Naval Institute authors Norman Polmar and Jim Caiella. The event will take place underneath the historic submersible, which is displayed at the National Museum of the United States Navy.
