Trumpet, USS Houston, #2013-125-001

A brass trumpet with mother of pearl valve buttons from USS Houston.  The trumpet is damaged with various cracks, bents, and dents especially around the bell. The trumpet is covered in dark colored corrosion and sediment. Below the trumpet is brass valve cap and small brass bar that separated from the trumpet.

Description: This brass trumpet with mother of pearl valve buttons was recovered from a WWII era Northampton-class heavy cruiser (CA-30). Serial numbers “290190” are located on the 2nd valve providing information that this trumpet is a C.G. Conn trumpet that was made between 1933-1934.
