IV

The fourth Tigress, a yawl built in 1905 at Bridgeport, Conn., by W. A. Robinson, was inspected by the Navy on 26 June 1917 as a potential section patrol craft in the 7th Naval District. Though never purchased by the Navy, she was chartered temporarily, armed, and manned by naval reservists. The yawl was placed in commission on 18 August 1917 and operated in the vicinity of Tampa, Fla., through the end of World War I. After hostilities ended, she was returned to her owner.
