A former name retained.

Malay (S. P. 735), a steam yacht, was built by John Rosch & Sons of Chester, Pa., in 1898; acquired on free lease from Hannah P. Weld of Boston 28 April 1917; and commissioned 16 June 1917 to patrol along the Atlantic coast during World War I. She was returned to her owner 1 March 1919, and sold to a buyer from Honduras in 1921.
