Caption: Who died of wounds received in the capture of USS WATER WITCH in Ossabaw Sound, Georgia, on 3 June 1864. He was a member of the crew of CSS GEORGIA, and his death certificate is signed by several of her officers, including: Lieutenant W. Gwathmey, CSN, Commanding Officer; Assistant Surgeon C. Wesley Thomas; and Fleet Surgeon C.H. Williamson.
