Title: Attack on German Submarine U-758
Description: 11 January 1944 Delivered in position 41-46N, 20-53W by planes from USS Block Island (CVE-21). This photo shows two rockets impacting just astern of the submarine. TBF Avenger aircraft of squadron VC-58 attacked with rockets and depth bombs, damaging U-758, but not sinking her. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
