The F-8 Crusader was the first operationally-equipped fighter capable of speeds over 1,000 mph. It entered military service March 1957 armed with 20mm cannon and Sidewinder missiles. At a time when guided missiles were taking the fore, the F-8 Crusader, dubbed "Last of the Gunfighters," scored the highest kill ratio of any U.S. fighter in the Vietnam War. This display, sponsored by the F-8 Crusader Association, is dedicated to the aircraft, featuring memorabilia from F-8 pilots, listing of aviators with significant time in the Crusader, and recognizing those that downed MiGs during Vietnam, earning the F-8 its other title of "MiG Master."
