Okinawa Campaign:  Operation Ten-Go:  Kamikaze Attacks:  May 10-11, 1945

The sixth Japanese Kamikaze attack of Operation Ten-Go occurred May 10-11, 1945.  As with the prior attacks, numerous ships were damaged.   On this occasion, the enemy were able to hit USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) twice.   Other warships attacked and damaged were USS Brown (DD-546), USS Harry F. Bauer (DM-26), USS Wilkes Barre (CL-103).  Due to the damage to Bunker Hill, Vice Admiral Marc A. Mitscher, USN, Commander Task Force 58, tranferred his flag to USS Enterprise (CV-6).  Of note, USS Hugh W. Hadley (DD-774) was damaged by a Baka bomb during the attack on May 11.
