Okinawa Campaign: Operation Ten-Go: Kamikaze Attacks: April 27-28, 1945
The fourth Japanese Kamikaze attack of Operation Ten-Go occurred April 27-28, 1945. As with the prior attacks, the enemy also utilized demolition barge boats, resulting in the damage of numerous U.S. Navy ships. Ships damaged: USS Bennion (DD-662), USS Butler (DMS-29), USS England (DE-635), USS Ralph Talbot (DD-390), USS Rathburne (APD-25), USS Twiggs (DD-591), and USS Wadsworth (DD-516). Note, England would receive substantial more damage during a Kamikaze attack on May 9. Our collections do not have photographs of this attack.
