Aviation:  PB4Y-1

Designated PB4Y-1 by the U.S. Navy, the Consolidated "Liberator" heavy-bomber aircraft was utilized for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) in the Battle of the Atlantic against German U-boats in the Bay of Biscay and the English Channel.  The U.S. Army Air Force designated the craft as B-24.  The PB4Y-1 had a crew of 10, maximum speed of 290 (250kn/488 km/h), and a range of 2,100 miles.
