19-LC-23179:   USS Helena (CL-50), late 1930s.   The cruiser is at the New York (also known as Brooklyn) Navy Yard, New York City, New York, showing the test of turret buffer and pressure gage recorder.  This instrument was rigged with a pressure gage with pencil which inscribed a line on the revolving cylinder with paper on surface.  The condition was actuated by a string connected to the turret buffer.  The pressure was furnished by liquid through tube connecting cylinder buffer rocker and on pressure gage recorder.
