Each year, new objects and documents are added to the museum through the generosity of donors. These donations help the National Museum of the American Sailor fulfill its mission to document the history of the Navy’s enlisted Sailor.

Due to the volume of offers the National Museum of the American Sailor receives, the museum can only accept donated materials after you first submit a completed donation form. If you have artifacts or documents that you believe would add to the National Museum of the American Sailor's collection please use this donation form to notify the museum about your proposed donation.

From January 1, 2019 to June 30, 2019, the National Museum of the American Sailor is undergoing a periodic collections inventory. Donors may continue to submit donation proposals for consideration during this time frame, however donations may not be accepted until July. Beginning on July 1, 2019, donors who submitted forms during the first half of 2019 will be contacted regarding their potential donations. During the first half of the year, collections  staff may reach out to a donor if there are questions about a donation. We thank you for your understanding and assistance in helping to preserve the history of the United States Navy’s enlisted Sailor.

If you have questions about the process or types of items we can accept, please read these Donation Frequently Asked Questions
