What will we see at Hampton Roads Naval Museum?

Visitors can experience our newest exhibit, “The Ten Thousand-Day War: The U.S. Navy in Vietnam, 1950 – 1975.” HRNM also has exhibits highlighting the early history of the U.S. Navy in Hampton Roads.

How has Hampton Roads Naval Museum prepared for visitors?

As an official Department of the Navy museum, HRNM has followed all Department of Defense regulations pertaining to COVID-19 and personal safety. HRNM has worked hard to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our visitors.

We have installed regularly spaced hand sanitation stations throughout the museum. We have incorporated signage to remind our guests we are all working together to maintain social distancing. We will have staff and volunteers on site to offer assistance and answer questions.

Staff and volunteers will be required to follow current DoD face covering requirements. HRNM staff will sanitize all frequently touched surfaces on an hourly basis and conduct spot cleaning as needed throughout the day.

How should visitors prepare to visit HRNM?

Come prepared with proper face coverings.

Visitors ages 5 and older; staff; and volunteers are required to wear face coverings, per Navy, Commonwealth of Virginia and Norfolk guidelines. A cloth, close fitting mask must be worn when inside the museum. We can offer face masks to those who need them.

Social distancing is required for any other staff, visitors or volunteers.

We ask that you and your group maintain at least 6 feet of social distance. Our galleries offer ample opportunity to experience our exhibits while maintaining a safe distance.

If you are experiencing any symptoms or illness, please visit us at a later time.

Consider postponing your visit if you have a fever, cough, have been traveling in the last two weeks, or if you were exposed to someone suspected of having COVID-19. Hampton Roads Naval Museum has a wealth of online videos and posts for your enjoyment.

Help us follow best practices while you are in the museum.
