Volunteer Opportunities

The U.S. Navy Seabee Museum is going to be going through a transitional phase from October 2010 until October 2011 as the museum relocates from its old building to its new state-of-the-art facility. Although we will not be open to the public during this time, the Seabee Museum has a variety of positions available to volunteers.

Volunteers at the U.S. Navy Seabee Museum can assist staff by:

  • Helping to pack and unpack the collections

  • Assisting with research for exhibits

  • Getting artifacts ready for exhibitions

In preparation for the grand opening in October 2011, the Seabee Museum's volunteer program is also going through an extensive renovation. In Spring 2011, the museum plans to begin recruiting a new cadre of volunteers to assist the staff in supporting expanded visitor services, exhibitions and educational programs.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at 805-982-5167 or seabeemuseum@navy.mil for more information.
