Puget Sound Navy Museum is located in the heart of downtown Bremerton next to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Bremerton Ferry Terminal.

Free parking is available near the Museum. Visitors can find one-hour parking on First and Second Streets and Washington Avenue as well as two-hour parking on Fourth and Fifth Streets and Pacific Avenue.

Paid parking is available along Washington Avenue.

By Ferry

The Museum is conveniently located next to the Bremerton Ferry Terminal. Visitors traveling from Seattle may take the scenic Seattle-Bremerton ferry departing from Pier 52. From the Bremerton Ferry Terminal, exit to the left and follow the side walk. The Museum is the large, white building located within Harborside Fountain Park.

Scheduling a Tour

The Puget Sound Navy Museum is a self-guided museum experience. We do encourage groups of 10+ visitors to notify the museum prior to their visit to ensure a quality museum experience.

School groups and groups with children are encouraged to use our Scavenger Hunts to help direct your visit!

Plan a Day Trip

Leave the car at home or in Seattle and explore downtown Bremerton on foot.

The ferry ride between Seattle and Bremerton is a scenic sailing across Puget Sound and through Rich Passage that provides spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains to the west and Mount Rainier to the southeast.

Grab coffee and breakfast at one of Bremerton's local coffee houses and head over to the Harborside Fountain Park which provides a nice view of the Shipyard as well as Port Orchard across Sinclair Inlet. You can also hang out near one of the five cone-shaped copper fountains that erupt every few minutes. Wading is not only encouraged, but expected on sunny days.

From the Park, make your way to the Puget Sound Navy Museum where you can explore the naval history of the region and experience life as a sailor through exhibits about the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, the USS John C. Stennis, and much more.

After your Museum visit, continue your walk through the City of Bremerton's newest downtown park, the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Memorial Plaza. The Park highlights the Shipyard's many contributions to the City and the nation. For lunch, try one of the many downtown restaurants, which range from street-side hotdog and hamburger stands to Mexican, Indian, Pan-Asian, Filipino, and seafood. Work off lunch by taking a leisurely stroll along Bremerton's boardwalk, which ends by one of the City's landmarks, the USS Turner Joy historic ship and museum. For a minimal fee, you can take a tour of the ship and, if time permits, we encourage you to explore the other downtown museums and shopping establishments. At the end of the day, simply walk back onto the ferry and enjoy the sail back to Seattle.

The Museum is handicap accessible and provides visitors with a family discovery area, museum store, restrooms, plenty of seating throughout the Museum, and a research library.
