Goal
Meet the President's direction by honoring and recognizing Vietnam Veterans for their service to the nation and Navy annually on May 29.
Key Messages
Just as those who came before them and those who serve today, our Navy Vietnam War veterans served their country with honor, courage, and commitment.
Every facet of the Navy we know today took part in the Vietnam War effort. Sailors were on the sea, along the rivers, coastal waters, in the air, and on land in support of ongoing operations.
Today, our bilateral relationship with Vietnam demonstrates our support for a strong, prosperous, and independent Vietnam. Through hard work and mutual respect, we are now close partners.
