Command Master Chief Roxanne Rhoades is a native of Ashville, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school in July 1987, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, FL. After RTC Orlando, she attended AZ ‘A’ School at Meridian, MS, and graduated with top honors.

In December 1987, she reported for her first tour in Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron THIRTY SEVEN (HSL-37), Barbers Point, HI. After three months, she transferred to Patrol Squadron TWO TWO (VP-22). During her tour with VP-22, she advanced to Third Class Petty Officer and deployed to Cubi Point, PI, and Misawa, Japan. She advanced to Second Class Petty Officer in December 1990 and detached to Kadena Air Force Base in February 1991.

After detaching VP-22, she attended AZ ‘C’ School (Data Analysis Course) in June 1992. She then reported to Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA, where she qualified Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. In September 1995, she transferred to Patrol Squadron Special Project Unit TWO (VPU-2), Barbers Point, HI. During her tour in VPU-2, she advanced to First Class Petty Officer and detached to Africa, Iraq, and Sicily.

In November 1999, she reported to Naval FORCE Aircraft Test Squadron Patuxent River, MD. During her tour at FORCE, she advanced to Chief Petty Officer. She then reported to USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) in December 2002, with deployments to the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf in support of Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM. While attached to TRUMAN, she advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and surged to support Hurricane Katrina relief.

In December 2005, she reported to Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Group serving and selected as a Command Senior Chief. In May 2008, she reported to the Senior Enlisted Academy and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Courses.

In July 2008, she reported toVAW-123 as the first billeted Command Senior Chief in an aviation squadron within the CNAL AOR. Having completed a highly successful workup cycle in Key West, FL and Fallon, NV serving with Carrier Air Wing ONE, VAW-123 deployed aboard USS ENTERPRISE.

Master Chief Rhoades reported to USS CONSTITUTION April 2011 and is now serving as the Command Master Chief.

Master Chief Rhoades’ decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (fifth award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (fourth award), and various unit citations and campaign awards.
